Pencil & Paper

Composing was always an important part of my life as a musician. But I've spent even more time writing music in recent years. In many ways, this work is the opposite of conducting. Instead of interacting with musicians in real time, one is removed from the world, sitting at the piano and focusing on a piece of manuscript paper, trying to jot down whatever one hears or plays, with hopes that it resonates with future listeners. Recent works include original compositions for the concert hall and theatrical stage, sketches and arrangements for choreographers, as well as instrumental pieces for commercial and cinematic use.
